What type of pageant are you planning on competing in... glitz or natural? Both require very different dresses. Here's an example of each, but according to the individual pageant, dress styles expected may differ:

Natural: http://www.thelookpc.com/consignments/tr鈥?/a>

If you are going glitz, try the consignment site above, eBay, or even get a dress custom made if you think you will be doing more than a few pageants. It's definitely worth the investment... clothing is very important in glitz systems. For natural, you can just go to a prom boutique, or check eBay... clothing is usually not scored in natural pageants, although some have strict requirements and will count off if you break the rules (for example, one system I know of takes off points if you wear gloves in beauty... which you really shouldn't anyway.)

If you are competing in glitz pageants, I suggest hiring a hair/makeup artist for the pageant. Check with the director for a list of vendors. You may also need, or want to use, spray tanning, flippers, falsies, acrylic nails, fake hair, the list goes on... It's an expensive hobby, but tons of fun! If you decide to do your own hair, you must invest in hot rollers, Redken Hot Sets spray, some good firm hold hairspray, and mousse, at the very least. As far as makeup goes, think darker rather than more... 'caked-on' faces never do well. Don't forget to moisturize, and if you plan on getting tanned, make sure your concealer/powder/foundation match your ';new'; skin tone!!

As far as natural pageants go, some allow no makeup at all for the younger girls, and the older girls can only wear a small amount of natural-looking makeup. Whatever you use now would be fine for natural pageants... just always make sure you wear enough powder so you don't look shiny onstage.

Remember, the dress, hair and makeup can help you win, but those three things will never win the pageant alone... the only one who can win the pageant is you!! Be confident, smile and make eye contact with the judges, and you've got a great shot at winning. Best of luck!!!I need some advice on how to win a beauty pageant plz help me. First ~ be confident... it's one of beauties biggest tips that most people seem to skip

Don't go too heavy on the eye makup b/c you can look like a raccoon... but put a lot of mascara on to make you eye lashes look long and beautiful :) If you have green or blue eyes, green or blue glittery eye shadow would look good... pink blush is awesome too,... make it look like you are really blushing.

get a dress that compliments you... it doesn't have to be to showy, and it would be cool it it matched your eyes to bring out the color.

leave you hair down, put diamond clips in it holding part of it back. Curl it loosely and just have fun!!!

And last of all, don't be hurt if you don't win... everyone is beautful in their own way. Be nice and polite to your competetors... and remember what ever happens, you are beautiful no mater what
First of all keep in mind that the stage lights will bleach out your face and make you appear pale. So if you have one on one interviews prior to going on stage, use less make up but darken it prior to going on stage.

Choose a dress you are comfortable in that feels like you other wise you will not look comfortable on stage. You may want to have a color analysis done and choose a dress that will accentuate your hair, skin, and eyes.

The biggest thing to remember with pagaents and what many don't realize is that the judges base a big part of their decision on your interview and poise. Dont cross your legs when you sit, only cross your ankles. Keep eye contact, don't stop smiling, use correct grammar, always be positive, practice walking and turning so you are comfortable doing it. Get someone to interview you so you can practice answering. Most importantly be very friendly to everyone and keep telling yourself ';that crown is mine. this is just a formality.';
There is lot on beauty and everything that u may wish on:
